Go Blue Game Day November 2, 2019 Michigan vs Maryland

Happy November Wolverine Football fans – today is another Go Blue Game Day post – Michigan vs Maryland. Yes, it’s time for some real football in weather that’s a little colder and sometimes downright nasty. Of course, November is the month where the contenders and the pretenders part ways and championships are lost and won. Michigan is a real longshot for a championship at this point, but there is still plenty to play for. An eleven-win season is still a very real possibility.

Bo Schembechler probably told Jim Harbaugh to lead the Wolverines to victory in 1985. So, that’s what Harbaugh did! Photo courtesy of the Bentley Historical Library at The University of Michgan.

Some Quick Series Highlights Since 1985:

  • 1985 – Michigan’s first game against Maryland took place in Ann Arbor. Quarterback Jim Harbaugh led the Wolverines to an efficient win – 20-0.
  • 2014 – Brady Hoke’s Wolverines lose their first ever Big Ten game against the Fighting Terrapins – 16-23 – ugh!
  • 2015 – Thirty years later, Coach Jim Harbaugh led his Wolverines to a 28-0 win at Maryland.
  • 2016 – Harbaugh’s Maize and Blue footballers achieve the biggest series victory margin with a 59-3 win at The Big House. Ouch!

Michigan has won the last four series games which is also the longest series winning streak by either team. The average score of a Michigan vs Maryland football game so far is 37.5 to 11.8 in favor of the Wolverines. Yes, Michigan is definitely the heavyweight in this football fight today.

All the numbers in this series favor Michigan, especially when they play in Maryland. In fact, the average score of the two games that Michigan has won at Maryland is 31.5 to 5. The betting line has the Michigan Men winning by about 21 points. So, today’s game should go very, very well the Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan at Maryland 2019 – My Prediction:

Michigan will win today – period. Coach Mike Locksley doesn’t have the offense or the defense to beat the Wolverines today. I think that Offensive Coordinator Josh Gattis will turn the tables on his former mentor and show him how to spread points all over the scoreboard. The Wolverines have all the weapons to do a lot of damage to the Terrapin defense.

The Wolverines will play at a high level for the second week in a row. They will be rewarded with a BIG ROAD WIN. So far, the average score of a Michigan Football game on November 2nd is 15.4 to 7.1. I predict a higher scoring game that definitely favors Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines. I look for a four score victory margin in this conference matchup.

Final Score: Michigan 38 Maryland 14. Go Blue!
